Wow, Trump is pathetically weak to cower to China. Doubt we hear any real criticism from the GOP China hawks who championed the patently unconstitutional TikTok bill.

Nothing will challenge your belief in democracy more than going to a local planning meeting, hearing people say patently absurd and unsupported things, and having those things be the basis for restricting their neighbor’s freedom to use their property.

1/ DOJ find itself in an untenable position vis-à-vis Epstein. This is an agency that is supposed to do nearly all of its business involving criminal prosecutions in public with maximum transparency. In reality, however, it does almost all of its business behind closed doors.

ICE is deporting a permanent legal US resident from Korea, a scientist researching a Lyme disease vaccine who has lived here since age 5, citing a minor pot possession charge 14 years ago for which he did community service. My fellow Americans, this is absolute madness.

This case is about more than high tariffs - it's about whether a president can stretch a vague statute beyond recognition to sidestep Congress, Cato Institute's Brent Skorup told Mary Cunningham CBS MoneyWatch. cbsnews.com/news/trumps-tr…

"There is no invasion at the border" is quite the statement for the White House to make at the same time as they are defending in court a presidential proclamation barring all asylum on the claim that there is an active, ongoing "invasion."

We marked the substitute up when I worked for HSGAC. I remain skeptical that this is anything more than a messaging bill. But Congress has no obligation to—and perhaps should not—consult the Executive Branch when drafting legislation specifically intended to rein it in.

Thinking perhaps the 28th Amendment could require a 2/3 supermajority in the Senate to confirm judges. And the 29th Amendment could preclude former courtroom advocates for the government from federal judicial service.

This is so gross. Cops arrested & charged a U.S. citizen for having the audacity to...record them using chokeholds & a stun gun during an immigration arrest. When he asserted his rights, one cop told him "you've got no rights...you're a migo." I just. 😑

Can a President declare an emergency and impose whatever tariffs he wants? Cato's answer: Absolutely not. We filed an amicus brief arguing that presidents can't abuse emergency powers to bypass Congress on trade policy. The Federal Circuit hears oral arguments in V.O.S.

Tommy is one of the most preeminent scholars on the Vacancies Act. I learned a lot about this situation from our discussion the other day. Well worth your time.
