A coalition of 9 EU Member States, incl Ireland, has requested that the EU review its position on trade with illegal Israeli settlements - to ensure it is "brought into line with international law" (read: ended). Important step, reflects a growing desire to act on ICJ findings 👇

At last Nine European Union countries have called on the European Commission to come up with proposals on how to discontinue EU trade with Israeli settlements in the occupied Palestinian territories, according to a letter seen by Reuters today reuters.com/world/middle-e

The situation in the occupied #WestBank has rapidly deteriorated, as the Israeli authorities continue to take actions that further erode the rights of the Palestinian population. Israeli security forces declared a state of emergency and imposed an almost complete closure of all

Israel is starving NICU babies. Not by mistake—by policy. The milk is gone. Mothers starving too. When Israel says it’s defending itself and the EU and US echo it this is what they mean. No other regime is committing cruelty like this. Starving infants. Deliberately.

Almost exactly 7 years ago, Senator Frances Black led the campaign to ban trade with Israel’s illegal settlements. It’s a powerful hit to Israel’s war crime trade. This decision is 7 years late, but still a victory. European countries, in fact all nations, must do the same.

Govt Occupied Territories Bill at Cabinet today, and in DĂĄil Foreign Affairs Committee next week. A very welcome, important and long overdue step - but we have to get the detail right. That means a full ban on all trade with the illegal Israeli settlements, both goods & services.

Independent Senator Frances Black has said it is "worrying" that services are not included in the draft Occupied Territories Bill and it is "absolutely crucial" that they should be rte.ie/news/politics/

Ironically, this perfectly captures the very reason the Bill is needed. These goods are not “produced in Israel” - they are produced in illegally occupied Palestinian territory. Israel’s attempt to cynically & unlawfully collapse this distinction is exactly what Ireland rejects.

The Israeli Occupation Forces took 10 small tins of baby formula from a doctor going into Gaza 2 days ago while they unashamedly bomb the population, but comments at Glastonbury is called terrorism. This is where we are.

💔 Very powerful portrait of three of the Palestinians murdered by apartheid Israel when it bombed a cafĂ© in Gaza yesterday, killing at least 24 people. These beautiful lives, full of potential and hope, stolen. This must end. #GazaGenocide

UN Special Rapporteur Francesca Albanese, UN Special Rapporteur oPt’s new report detailing how companies have profited from Israel’s illegal occupation, apartheid and now its ongoing genocide in Gaza must serve as a wake-up call to corporations and states.

Tune in đŸ‘‡đŸœ we cannot have a diluted Occupied Territories Bill, the government must include services. It's the very minimum we can do to sanction apartheid Israel for its genocidal crimes against Palestinians. Simon Harris said we need to use all levers, let's see them.

Keep a very close eye on our government. When the Occupied Territories Bill is laid out, if services are not on it, it’s bullshit. They’ll try to get away with banning oranges and olives. They are cowards. And they’re more afraid of Israel than of their own people. Very unwise!
