Thank you to Americana Corner , whose grant allowed us to conserve a ladies’ slipper that belonged to Martha Washington (1731-1802) who gifted it to Lady Mary Watts in 1789. Come view the slipper back on display in the McEntee Gallery on the 3rd floor of the Museum!

For exhibition in April 2025, using a grant approved by the Americana Corner #preservingamerica grant program, we have conserved a J.M. Falconer painting of an early depiction of the National Park Service Declaration House where Thomas Jefferson wrote the Declaration of Independence.
