Our Fairwork Findings: What do you need to know? (1) Workers who are treated as employees by platform companies experience autonomy & freedom on the job. (2) The majority of workers doing platform work as independent contractors are immigrants & people of color. 1/2

(3) The work is not only racialized, but RACIALIZING. Workers of color are more likely to be dependent on this work, their wages stagnate, there is no room for career growth, & across the board they experience discrimination in the form of verbal & physical violence 2/2.
