Friday was a rather special day. Me and Matthew Pottage planted a beautiful Sequioadendron giganteum ‘Glaucum’ on RHS Garden Wisley s new lake island. It’s only little but will soon overtake the 4 weeping cherries it shares the island with.

The The RHS revealed in Greening Grey Britain that between 2005 and 2015, an additional 3 million front gardens were paved over. This has huge implications for overheating, flooding, and biodiversity loss. Homeowners should be mandated to retain 50% 'natural' garden space.

Fabulous capture of our RHS Garden Wisley wildlife garden by ace floral photographer @jannelford over the weekend. "It was one of those rare magical mornings that was both frosty and misty, so I grabbed my camera and dashed off to RHS Wisley for a few hours. So worth the frozen fingers"

1/2 It’s almost time for the Wisteria Walk to burst into bloom. Having first opened in 2018, the Wisteria Walk has never flowered as designed due to frosts damaging the purple Wisteria ‘Kokuryu’. With late frosts forecast for two nights recently, the team had a plan.

The Wisteria Walk’s magnificent purple cultivar ‘Kokuryu’ is now flowering after a much-anticipated wait. The white ‘Kimono’ cultivar is also starting to bloom, meaning that the two combined will provide a spectacular sight in the coming days. rhs.org.uk/gardens/wisley… #Wisteria

The newly developed Clear Lake is now officially open! Located where the old Trials Field used to be, it’s a must-see this summer. Essential in the dry periods of summer, its capacity is approximately 9000 m3, which is equivalent to over 42,000 domestic water butts.
