Let's talk ticks! 🔍 🗓️ From April to November, ticks are most active in #RougeNUP. Deer ticks usually live in woods or tall grasslands close to the ground. Always check for ticks on yourself and your pets after spending time in the great outdoors! 📷Gary James

Some of the most important observations of our local wildlife occur in the spring. Spotting our endangered turtles is one of them. Early season turtle spotting helps to establish relative abundance and identify over winter habitat areas.

Greetings #RougeNUP visitors! 🐾 Please keep your pets leashed and stay on designated trails in the park. Leashing helps protect wildlife, preserve vegetation and reduce risks of tick bites and exposure to avian flu. Thank you for helping create a safe environment for everyone!🌳

Yellow archangel, creeping jenny, ivy, spotted dead nettle, and periwinkle are invasive in Canada but are often found in garden containers. Learn to identify and avoid them. Also, don't discard garden waste in natural areas.🌿 Learn more: bit.ly/3Una0V8

Why did the turtle cross the road?🐢Because turtle nesting season is here, of course! 💚 Female turtles are crossing roads to find the perfect spot to nest. Help us keep them safe by driving carefully and reporting injured turtles to PC Dispatch: 1-877-852-3100. 📷Gary James
