The beautiful Battersea Power Station with the Battersea Park Firework display in behind on Sunday evening. Took quite a few attempts to find the perfect spot to line everything up, but I think the result was well worth it! #BatterseaParkFireworks Battersea Power Station

3 redundant flight computers… You can plan for so many failures in high altitude weather ballooning (it’s usually tech that fails). Yet this morning, was the nylon cord between the balloon and parachute that failed at 1.4km… Luckily successful recovery from a tree in Fulham!

Stegastein Viewpoint looking out over Aurlandsfjord, moments before a ferocious winter blizzard came in. Got very lucky with this shot, right before the blizzard. Made for a challenging drive back down though! 📷~160 degree drone panorama. 📍Aurlandsfjord, Western Norway.

Great evening out last night with my Westminster School year 11s tutor group, doing something little different as our final outing before they take their GCSEs. In the wind and rain, they had a lot of fun climbing over the O2 Arena. Would definitely recommend it as an activity! #UpatTheO2

Caught this fantastic shot of a robin last week, while walking in Belvoir Forest in the outskirts of Belfast. It was certainly a poser for the camera! Having never previously got this close up, I hadn't noticed the detail/colour in the feathers and the way they overlap.

Not bad way to spend a very early (4:30am start) Sunday morning. Congrats Francis Holland on successfully launching your first high altitude weather balloon! Glad Westminster School could help support. The flight’s in the air currently & can be followed along - amateur.sondehub.org/FHSSW1

We row on rivers, on lakes, and on the sea. Old Harry Rocks on the Jurassic Coast of Dorset was the destination for some coastal rowing before the end of term. Drone work, as ever, by Andrew Mulholland.

As I kick off my 5th year of teaching, I'm please to say I'm now formally a Qualified Teacher in England, having completed the 1 year PGCE/QTS and statutory 2 year induction period on job. This final stage involved 2 years as Early Career Teacher (replacement for old 1 year NQT)

The Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights) over Southern Iceland, taken a few days ago on the Westminster School Iceland photography trip. Made up of 129 individual 15 second long exposures over a period of about 32 mins. Also features collection of satellites (that look like shooting stars)!

Very proud of our @WSchool FIRST LEGO League UK and Ireland teams at the North London regional heats today, where they picked up the Robot Design trophy, Knockout trophy and ended up winning the overall Champions Award. Next stop, the Great Britain National Finals up in Harrowgate next month! #FLLUK

A very successful trip up to Harrogate to the FIRST LEGO League UK and Ireland GB National Finals, with the Westminster School team winning the Rising All-Star award! Very proud of them after all the hard work put in over the past 7-8 months to get to this point. Got lots of new ideas now! x.com/flluk/status/1…

Something a bit different last week… While on a photography trip to Norway with students, we got to give the Flåm zipline a go. Coming in at 1.38km long (and speeds up to 100km/h), it’s the longest zipline in Scandinavia and we can certainly say, was great fun!

Some big news! 🎉 After a bit over 5 fantastic years, today was my final day at @WSchool, as Teacher of Computer Science. In January, I'm off on a new adventure, taking on Subject Lead of Computer Science at the world-renowned Institut Le Rosey in Switzerland (Geneva/Gstaad).
