Resiliency is built thru action. Expose the system to stressors, get better at handling stressors. Avoiding stressors because they are hard to deal with will make you fragile.

“Learn to deal with failure, cuz it’s coming. I don’t care how good you are, or you think you are, you’re gonna fail. There will be times you feel like you can’t get out of it but that’s part of it. Have a strong support group but understand failure is a part of it.” Derek Jeter

Derek Jeter said, "You know I've failed plenty." "But I'm not afraid of it." Mental toughness isn’t about avoiding fear. It’s standing tall in the middle of it. That’s what makes you different.👇

There's no shame in making outs, everyone makes them, and if you play long enough, you're going to make a bunch of them. What's not ok is not knowing why and how you're making those outs. That will put you in a tough place.

EcoD isn’t a systematized program that one follows to develop skill rather the true implementation of EcoD principles is learning how we properly relate to the world around us. This can be hard for many who are just looking for recipes rather than learning the art of cooking.

Garrett Basil Boyum (@gboyum01) 's Twitter Profile Photo

🔑 tenant of EcoD is things are dynamic with their own unique conditions. Therefore skillfulness of athlete or coach is an art form not a formula. Shawn Myszka often talks about the importance of developing your Craft. IMO we should see ATHs & coaches as artists vs technicians

There is a great opportunity coming up this June 26-27th for coaches or athletes to hone their craft where you can dive in deeper on the art of applying an EcoD approach with Emergence annual Sport Movement Skill Conference. 🔗eventbrite.com/e/sport-moveme…

Ability to pay attention starts with learning how to pay attention. You “pay” with your mental energy, your focus and your attention to detail. Most people don’t know what to look for and how to read situations. Turn this into a strength of your game!!!
