Last week I met key environmental NGOs to share perspectives ahead of CBD COP16 in Cali, Colombia. We agreed that we needed to build on the momentum from the last COP by showing our collective determination to halt and reverse nature loss at home and abroad.

Planning isn't a "chokehold" on growth. It's there to ensure sustainable growth. Bats didn't hold up HS2. Politics & mismanagement did. Sad to see Keir Starmer's caricature of regulators as blockers. It'd be utter short-termism to ditch planning rules for a quick economic hit.
