Very excited for this new faculty recruitment (Assist., Assoc. or Full) at Stanford as part of our expanding work in this area. We are interested in #pophealth folks and #epidemiology researchers! No MD required (but MDs welcome)! (NB: I have felt very welcome here as a non-MD!)

I was thrilled to see First Lady Melania Trump slip into the back of the audience at my reading hosted by Politics and Prose at Sidwell Friends School! After the talk we got to chat briefly. She said she was 500 pages into COVENANT and had been reading on her flight back from Japan. (1/2)

I see many tweets claiming that hypertension is a cause of CKD. This is a common error. It is far more likely that CKD is a cause of hypertension.

Real world use of #SGLT2 i vs DPP4i is associated with mitigation of eGFR loss even in patients with #T2DM lacking evidence of CV disease or #CKD. Effects persists during long-term follow-up (median 3 yr, max 5 yr) See our full study in @CJASN bit.ly/CJASN0218

Feeling so blessed to be dropped off on my first day of "19th grade" (aka third year of medical school) Stanford Medicine by mom, who has a GED, and my grandmother, who learned how to read at 27 years old.
