Yesterday we went for a paddle along the Rivers Wensum & Yare thanks to PubAndPaddle Norwich. Everything might hurt this morning, but a fun & mostly senere time was had by all, with ice cream & great food to help along the way. Also spotted some great wildlife including a seal 🦭

So pleased to see this out - it's been 7 years in the making!! Huge congrats to @bluebirdsjunk for being awesome and sticking with me through this one. And big thanks to npj Antimicrobials and Resistance for supporting our paper to publication!

A very #proudPI day today - Cailean is the first PhD student through the Langridge Lab group! Cailean, it's been a real pleasure and you fully deserve this result today. Congratulations Dr!!

This year's new intake of Microbes, Microbiomes and Bioinformatics DTP students are enjoying getting stuck into Gemma Langridge's #comparativegenomics for week 4 of their bioinformatics training, with last year's students Alice Nisbet and Eleanor Hayles ably assisting #futurePIs

Claire Jenkins wrapped up day 1 of this Microbes, Microbiomes and Bioinformatics DTP training week by explaining how the wonderful team UK Health Security Agency's Gastrointestinal Bacteria Reference Unit do comparative genomics to investigate outbreaks to better public health. We are honoured we got a rare talk out of Claire #AcedIt

Day 3 of #comparativegenomics Microbes, Microbiomes and Bioinformatics DTP week & Gemma Langridge taught us genome rearrangements are a another #variation to watch for in #bacterial #genomics. Emma Waters couldnt resist getting involved at last. Over to Eleanor Hayles & Alice Nisbet to lead your activity on Friday!

Hoping to cheer up my tennis mad boy. He ended 2023 on a high, hitting a 1000 stroke rally with his coach. But 2024 has brought a neck muscle sprain and now tonsillitis and he's sad not to have made it back on court yet. Any advice Andy Murray Jamie Murray judy murray ?

Really excited to share my first preprint about the role of FakA in biocide tolerance 🏥🧫🔬🧬🖥️ @bluebirdsjunk harsha siani @Cwhitch Mark Webber Quadram Institute GAMA Healthcare ▶️ biorxiv.org/content/10.110…

I promise it was sunny this morning! Enjoying spending time in Edinburgh with @DrPrernaVohra today tackling reviewer responses to our Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research grant proposal 🤔📝🤞#collaboration #fuelledbychocolate

It was brilliant to see Cailean graduate today, we both learned a lot during his time in the Langridge Lab and he was a fantastic first PhD student. Thank you Cailean!

This has been in the works for a while, congrats Fatemeh, Jakob Jung and Lars Barquist!

Very excited to see Eleanor Hayles preprint out today! A fascinating venture into the local genomic epidemiology of SARS-CoV-2 👇

Do you have experience in bacterial genome analysis🧬? We have a 🚨3 yr postdoc position🚨! Apply to join us Quadram Institute in Norwich, UK by 13 Oct ✉️📥 Please RT! quadram.ac.uk/vacancies/rese…

It's that time of year! Meeting the latest cohort of Microbes, Microbiomes and Bioinformatics DTP students & teaching them #comparativegenomics Day 1: mapping & #variant calling. Gemma Langridge taught us valuable lessons (sanity checking your data) & Ella Rodwell showed the large scale genomics performed UK Health Security Agency
