Women experience violence & inequality across their lifespan but older women are often overlooked in work to understand & prevent #VAW. Australia’s population aged 65+ is increasing, so older women’s experiences must be considered to prevent #VAW #16Days bit.ly/3Y1sZ8U

#RespectIs responding to someone's political ideas, not launching personal or gendered attacks. We can make our political workplaces safe for people of all genders, starting with ending gendered harassment online. Read our report: buff.ly/3VQlLmh #16DaysOfActivism

Not okay at all. This is what so many women experience in politics. We need political workplaces to be proactive about keeping their workers safe from online harassment and abuse, especially when its gendered: buff.ly/3VQlLmh #16Days

It’s fantastic to see a strong gender balance in the new Andrews govt front bench, and we look forward to continuing to work together. And, we’re pleased to see that Vic has bucked the trend and more women from all sides of politics will make up our parliament.

The latest data from @WGEAgency on the gender pay gap shows that progress has stalled. Women are, on average, earning $26,596 less than men. Every single industry favours men over women. This is not good enough. Every workplace can take steps towards equality right now.

Gendered harassment destroys our democratic diversity. Jacinta Ardern's experience is a tragic example of what we lose when we let misogyny slide. Our research shows that in Australia, women face gendered harassment at all levels of politics. A cultural change is needed.
