Will Bower of Dalton Nuclear Institute talking about uranic hot particle alteration in soils at #goldschmidt2018. Particularly relevant after S. Utsumomiya’s (Kyushu University) excellent talk on U found in particles released from the FDNPP. Natural Environment Research Council Diamond Light Source Env Rad Net

Just accepted Environmental Science & Technology Journals paper on uranium biogeochemistry. Some really awesome work - well done to Will Bower! Awesome end to the year: @ConnaughFallon's first nuclear forensics PhD paper now available in #OpenAccess ACS_Omega. Result of a fun and fruitful collaboration with Manchester NanoSIMS Dalton Nuclear Institute MES manchester UoM Chemistry pubs.acs.org/doi/pdf/10.102…

Well done Adam Fuller. Uranium biogeochemistry in organic rich soils just out: doi.org/10.1016/j.chem…. Beam-time nearly killed me (food poisoning & tonsillitis), but worth it in the end! New Fukushima contam. study in STOTEN. sciencedirect.com/science/articl…. Well done to students Kazuya Morooka of Kyushu University and Joyce Ang of University of Helsinki - Radiochemistry Unit Faculty of Science, University of Helsinki, & Satoshi, Rod, Bernd and all others involved. Big thanks to Diamond Light Source I14 for beam-time! (1/2)

3 Diamond Light Source beamlines and an immense amount of data later we are on to the last of our U hot particle samples, exhausted but happy!

Everybody looking happy to be here! @QueensCollegeOx #AnXAS2017 Env Rad Net Dalton Nuclear Institute Diamond Light Source Royal Society of Chemistry Science and Technology Facilities Council

Will Bower's uranium emoji... microXAS mapping and apparently annoying our hot particles

Will Bower @ConnaughFallon of Dalton Nuclear Institute visiting PSI Paul Scherrer Institut microXAS beamline for chemical tomography of U particles. Great beam-time.

Env Rad Net Natural Environment Research Council The University of Manchester Dalton Nuclear Institute UoM Chemistry science on Diamond Light Source beam-line I-14. Busy few days exploring hard X-ray nano-imaging possibilities for nuclear and environmental materials. Excellent facility for nuclear research and lots of super data!

Dr Will Bower of Dalton Nuclear Institute presenting his Natural Environment Research Council Env Rad Net Diamond Light Source I18 and I14 research on hot particle aging at MARC 2018 conference, Hawaii

It’s been a fabulous week at the Methods and Applications of Radiochemistry Conference in Keauhou Kona. Lots of interest in the Diamond Light Source I14 capability and our EnvRadNet Dalton Nuclear Institute work on hot particles with colleagues at Kyushu University.
