Are Manchester City Council confirming there’ll be no network of temporary bike lanes installed - or even bid for - coz prefers to wait months for handful of permanent projects instead? If so, contrary to so many comparable cities in UK & raises serious questions given that 1/2

Why do the Greater Manchester pop-up cycleways all, more or less, end at the Manchester City Council boundary? Come on Manchester City Council - play your part, do your bit and help us ALL to #BuildBackBetter 🚲 🐝

Chris Heaton-Harris Can you help with the unfortunate situation in Greater Manchester. 9 councils have ambitious plans for miles and miles of pop-up cycleways and Manchester City Council is refusing to engage. This would leave a massive gap in provision.

Manchester CC don’t seem to understand importance of these short term cycle lanes. Pub transport will not be the answer we need action now not commitment to long term solutions - we need both! I have written to head of highways for an explaination. Thx to residents raising this.

Hey Andy Burnham you've been great at responding to R number queries. Any chance you could respond to queries about Angeliki Stogia's thread that has taken away all hope of socially distanced commuting and temporary cycle lanes helping us towards Chris Boardman CBE's #BeeNetwork?

Westminster’s All Party Group on cycling (incl. 20 Labour MPs) is appealing to Tory minister to do something about Manchester’s blocking of #Covid19 emergency cycling provision. Does this not embarrass Manchester Labour? Manchester Labour 🐝 @SirRichardLeese Mayor of Greater Manchester 🚗🚗🚗🚗🚗🚗🚗🚗

Stockport residents have been in touch regarding lack of support from Manchester City Council for cyclists. Lots of positive developments in our town and I hope our neighbours in Manchester can work with Stockport Council to improve and expand cycle lanes 🚲

Recently Angeliki Stogia referred to us as the 'Cycle Lobby' Although we are cycle crazy, our dream is for a city that can be used by all - not just the 55% of households in Manchester that have a car. That's why today we are launching a campaign for micro mobility.

Ask MCC councillors to ensure next week's Neighbourhood and Environmental Scrutiny Committee discusses MCC's intentions towards the regional pop-up cycle network. Essential to MCC's Covid-19 response, on the agenda Climate Emergency Manchester helps you respond: climateemergencymanchester.net/2020/06/18/wri…

The patronising “the-North-should-be-grateful-for-what-it’s-given” mentality that’s been on display over the last 24 hours is the primary reason why we have such a large North-South divide in this country.
