What a great pleasure to join students at IIT Delhi on 🇮🇳's National Science Day. In 1952, UN Development supported the Govt of 🇮🇳 to establish the 1st Indian Institute of Technology in Kharagpur. I discussed how #tech & #innovation must respond to new complexity in achieving the #SDGs.

It was a very nice experience to present our work in iCACGP-IGAC 2024 (9-13 September 2024). Here, we tried to quantify lightning induced emissions and its impact on air quality over India using observations and numerical model simulations. Had fruitful interactions with peers from scientific communities.

Clean air is an economic asset. Indo-Gangetic Plain’s aspirational target of 35 by 35, meaning reducing annual PM2.5 level to 35 microgram per cubic meter by 2035, can be achieved with clear time bound sectoral implementation plan, regional cooperation and public engagement.
