This week Dialogue on Shelter Trust and Safe and Inclusive Cities 2.0 partners at the review meeting with Plan Int' Zimbabwe. Key messages: models and innovation vital for quality youth programming; green jobs, blending technical skills and soft skills crucial for decent work for young people.







This week dialogueonshelter initiated a process of developing a climate change response strategy to inform actions under one of thematic pillars in the 2023 - 2027 Strategic Plan. #localisingclimatechangeactions




Last week, I was a guest lecturer at the Dept of Arch. and Real Estate - Urban Mgmt Class at University of Zimbabwe. A great session where I shared Harare findings from the City of Systems African Cities Research Consortium Research. #framingpathwaysforurbantransformation. Thanks Dzivaguru .

SDI affiliates includ. dialogueonshelter participating at the Resilience Hub COP28 side event. Key message: community knowledge crucial for building transformative capacity that is replicable across multiple spaces in the quest for resilient and inclusive cities.



This week African Cities Research Consortium cities that include Harare, Accra & Nairobi convened in Harare to reflect on and refine the Community Knowledge approach - a grassroots-oriented process aimed at reimagining and revolutionising research in ways that meaningfully amplify community voices.


Looking forward to an engaging session themed 'scaling up locally-led climate action' being hosted by Slum Dwellers International tomorrow under the auspices of the Gobeshona Global Conference #4.


This week I attended a . session on the proposed Climate Resilience Water Supply Plan being supported by VEI (Dutch Utility) and UNICEF ZIMBABWE. Very timely response to the climate crisis and promising opportunity for linking with African Cities Research Consortium work in Harare.
