The Igneous rocks we are studying today at this volcanic site teach us different things about Earth processes than the sedimentary rocks we were studying at the Grand Canyon yesterday explains School of Earth and Space Exploration's Dr. Andrea Goltz (she/her) this morning.

.Dr. Andrea Goltz (she/her) gives us a tour of the Experimental Petrology and Igneous processes Center (EPIC) at School of Earth and Space Exploration. We'll be doing some lab work here after lunch. Can't wait!

Managed to clinch 2nd place in the #Goldschmidt2022 ECR trivia night with some help from Maria Dias, @BissbortT, and Dr. Andrea Goltz (she/her). Definitely a strong showing for the igneous group!

Itâs a wrap on fieldwork in Colombia! So many thanks to our Colombian collaborators for working with us to find amazing rocks, and to Dr. Christy Till (she/her) for this opportunity! Exciting science ahead! Juan S Jaramillo Lydia Harmon MUSICA

It's here! We are extremely excited to share with you the SZ4D Implementation Plan. The plan articulates a cogent and forward-looking vision for the future of subduction-zone science. Spread the word! U.S. National Science Foundation doi.org/10.25740/hy589⊠. @UCSC Press release: news.ucsc.edu/2022/11/subducâŠ

Finally ready for the *lime*light zenodo.org/record/8135998 MATLAB program "LIME" for calculating mineral modal abundances. Est. in 2011 as an AGU abstract (with 14 citations) and now available online. Manuscript with underlying theory and applications coming soon! J.-A. Olive

#OneOnOneWednesday Meet Jessie Bersson, PhD candidate at Arizona State & U.S. National Science Foundation intern at #CVO. She studies magma storage conditions beneath #GlacierPeak, learning how rocks formed. Sheâs always outdoors, climbing volcanoes or riding her bike to visit new outcrops. #USGS

To all who attended the Workshop on Mantle Supply and Imaging Magmatic Systemsâthanks for making it such a blast! Great discussions (and huge momentum I think!) on integrating multidisciplinary approaches to trace magma from the mantle to crust to volcano Thanks U.S. National Science Foundation SZ4D!
