I always appreicate the right to point insights from Evan. This is the ag version of my Drill Sergeant screaming "Hope is not a plan" in my ear in a different life. It's getting more risky and complex to "wing it." I hope more and more folks are able to get ahead of these

Every year we save about 5 acres of grain for Dan Somsen to cut with the Gleaner E. He is a special-needs friend that comes up and helps for about a week with harvest. He will call and discuss this event with my brother for the next 12 months, he truly loves to help out.

A one-time compost application of 22.3 tons/acre resulted in higher yield, soil organic matter, and nutrients after 26 years compared to no-input plots. Context: producing this much compost per ac would require ~45 years of the region's wheat residues. acsess.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.10…

We often lose the context of the broader market -- Grant Wiese always does a great job of balancing the context with the clear "so what" for a farm

Speed of learning and execution is something we don't talk about enough in ag. This isn't just government. It's software. New programs. Capital availability.

Every other industry has equity financing yet farmers haven't had that option. We are blessed to have one of the strongest ag lending markets in the world here in the US. Sadly, it's still not enough if we want to keep farmers in control of their assets to give them the ability

Paul has the goods -- a couple of good spreadsheets from him that simplify the process given things are starting to get busy heading into planting (if you're not digging out from snow)

Sure, being good at managing your narrative is good, but have you ever tried being so good at something that you didn't have to?
