Blwyddyn Newydd Dda! Our first event of 2025 looks like it'll be a cold one. Consider wearing layers, bringing a hat & gloves to have options for staying warm. It could be slippery, in the park and elsewhere. If we judge it to be too hazardous there'll be a cancellation post.

We try hard to be warm & welcoming in person, and put on a fun & friendly event whenever possible, but we can't control the weather! Expect some slippery patches, in the park and elsewhere. If our course checkers find it too hazardous, there'll be a separate cancellation post.

Do you #loveparkrun? Show it at the first of this year's love themed events, for St Dwynwen's Day. Suggestion is to wear some pink or red. Also fine not to! Either way, consider gloves, an extra layer, and a coat or change of clothes for afterwards - expected to be quite cold.

Any ideas how we can celebrate an unofficial milestone? It'll be the 400th edition of Grangemoor parkrun today. If you've got a milestone top that could work in combination with others, maybe you could pose for a pic? Join us in the start area by 8.55 please!

Last week featured a very keen "lead dog" for part of the event. A four-legged friend can join you on a short, handheld, non-extendable lead. It's going to be another chilly one - consider an extra layer (unless you've got a fur coat), hats, gloves, etc.

Wear some red for Wales to parkrun this weekend? Fans of all other nations, and those who aren't big rugby supporters, are also very welcome. Visitors please allow plenty to time to get to the gathering area. First Timer's Welcome at 8:50.

As it's the 22nd, there'll be a few tutus taking part. We think parkrun is best with a bit of parkfun, if you agree come along and be part of it? Tutus are very much optional! Enjoy completing 5k with our community and/or helping to make the event happen.

Volunteers from the community are offering to pace odd numbered minutes from 19 to 43 this week. Chase a pace, or not, as you wish. Sunglasses suggested. Clear skies are forecast, and there's due to be a partial solar eclipse about 10am.

International Day of Conscience, a time we could think about all the different perspectives there are on parkrun, in our local community and beyond. Come along and tell us about your reason to run.

My my it's nearly parkrun again. Will you surrender part of your Saturday morning to join us? Some of the Brotherhood of Grangemoor will be in green showing support for Mental Health Awareness Week. And, ooh ah, there's a little bit of room on the roster if you want to marshal.
