Star Class children have enjoyed learning about the life cycle of a chick. They used their phonic knowledge to label their life cycle diagrams.

It’s been all about Makaton signs in Star Class today. We have been learning signs for #deafawarenessweek Children learned sentence starters and actions for story words like “Once upon a time”, “Next”,and “Finally”. They will use these to retell the story ‘The Enormous Turnip’.

This week, Star Class children have been busy making their own treasure maps and messages in a bottle. We made our own ‘treasure map’ paper by staining A4 paper with tea and coffee!

Year 6 are learning about the Ancient Greeks and have created a timeline of the main events/periods in this era.

Year 2 have been scientists! We explored our outside environment to see if we could find things that were alive, used to be alive and were never alive.

Today in Star Class, the children enjoyed using different shapes to create their own 3D rocket ships.

Year 6 have had an enjoyable first morning at ‘Into University’. They have completed three different tasks with an engineering focus: investigating bridge designs; how to clean oil spills and how to transport crops safely down a steep path.

Sky class designed a parachute for an egg using different resources at ‘Into University’. What egg-cellent designs!

Sky class enjoyed visiting the Science Museum and ‘Wonderlab’ as part of their ‘Into University’ programme.

Sky class have had a fun fourth day ‘Into University’ learning about different courses that are available at university, considering what they may like to study if they were to go to University and completing their research project about a particular scientist.

Year 6 had fun graduating from ‘Into University’ at Pembroke College, Cambridge.

Sky class enjoyed their Dr Me sessions, learning about how to care for themselves or others if they are injured.

Year 6 enjoyed their drama workshop run by ‘Speech bubbles’, focusing on issues in their local area.
