Out and about this morning doing some weeding. Great to chat with residents about local issues. Collected a few bags, and happy with how it’s looking!

Today I asked the government why parliament was not recalled last year, when it announced that 2800 jobs were to be lost in Port Talbot. Why was steel making in Wales not treated with the same urgency? If primary steel making is now a priority - why did they allow the closures?

What fun at Hereford raceway last week. Took a group from Hay youth club go karting. Got to have a quick go hence my smiling face. It was amazing seeing all the smiles on those young people’s faces. Didn’t matter what speed they did it in they all took the most from it.

A brilliant evening of bingo at the RBL Hub! The room was full of good fun, laughter, and a great community spirit. Some lucky tables went home with the prizes, but everyone enjoyed the buzz and banter. Next bingo night is on Saturday 21st June at 7.30pm. Mark your calendars

Tonight’s job: out cleaning signs. The only trouble is… you start with one, and then you just can’t stop! One sparkly sign leads to another and suddenly it’s a full-blown mission. 😅 I’m sure I missed loads of them, but at least it’s a start and the town’s looking brighter

Lovely evening, so I popped out to do a bit of street tidying. Cleared the weeds by the factory and made sure the drains are clear—ready for winter!

Attending WLGA conference. Excellent breakout session on Voluntary Youth Workers in Wales. Makes me so proud of what we have achieved in Hay with the youth club. An amazing team of volunteers making a difference to the young people of Hay and the surrounding area.

Sunday morning job done — cleared the overhanging brambles along the path from the church to town, so no one should lose an eye! Off out for some family time now — enjoy the rest of your day, everyone.
