We have approved the RAPID Study here North East London NHS Foundation Trust (NELFT). This project is running out of our Home Treatment Teams. And is examining the effectiveness of different digital interventions to help people manage suicidal thoughts.

One of the most profound things I read in my original journey to ADHD diagnosis was what Dr. Ned Hallowell calls “the cough drop sign” in the book, Driven To Distraction. I’d never felt more seen before reading this quote. It comes from one of Hallowell’s ADHD patients:

Tonight's #Panorama is incredibly upsetting. Seeing vulnerable and unwell people being treated without any dignity, respect or empathy makes it difficult to imagine how people are supposed to recover when they are traumatised by the places that are supposed to care for them.

OK. Real talk time. I've been keeping this quiet for months and there's no need to make it public, but that wouldn't serve anyone would it? Also I keep witnessing how this profession tends to be self-righteous and full of stigma against the very people we are meant to serve. 1/n

One cause of #PTSD that doesn't seem to get mentioned in the info leaflets is being detained & treated by force on an psychiatric inpatient ward That's what caused me to develop #PTSD #PTSDAwarenessDay
