The 53rd Sandbjerg Meeting on Membrane Transport started yesterday, first session was on renal membrane transport including phosphate transport by Carsten Wagner and AQP2 dynamics by Lene Nejsum. Furthermore talks from ECRs Vishalini Venkatesan and Samuel L Sandegaard on pkd

Second session was on paracellular pathways in transporting epithelia, chaired by Markus Bleich, with Dorothee Gunzel, Martin Lehmann and ECRs Susanne Milatz and Ioanna Pouyiouro. All on claudin permeability characteristics and regulatory process

First morning session on day two on receptor mediated endocytosis of proteins. Nice introduction by Søren Moestrup, then talks by Kathrin Weyer and ECRs Martin Quist Rasmussen, Kristian Wiborg, and Pernille Lajer Sørensen centered on megalomania in various tissues.

Next up are the free comm session with Ebbe Bødtkjer, on tumor acidity for anti-cancer therapy, Pedro Imenez Silva Pedro Henrique Imenez Silva on proton sensing and kidney stone formation, and Gilles Crambert Rein Et Tubulopathies on lipidomic profiling of kidney segments
