I dropped the ball a few times last week, but an older grad student in my program told me it’s important to know what balls are glass and what balls are rubber, and that’s the type of advice I needed to hear.

Fun fact: Svante Arrhenius, best known to students for his work on chemical kinetics, provided a prediction of CO2-induced climate change... in 1896! He predicted poles would warm fastest, and at 420ppm CO2 global heating of ~3C. Amazing stuff.
