New paper in Molecular Cell! Loss of EXO1-dependent SSA is a vulnerability of BRCA1-deficient cells. Great work by Bert van de Kooij, Anne Schreuder, Raphael Pavani in collaboration with Peter Cuppen, Martijn Luijsterburg, @marcelvanvugt, andre nussenzweig lab, Sylvie Noordermeer. tinyurl.com/2sdkz3j2

And check out this very nice paper from The Blackford Lab and team, reporting a dependency of BRCA1-BARD1-deficient cells on BLM. Appeared in Molecular Cell together with our paper reporting synthetic lethality between BRCA1 -EXO1.

The Chromosoma Board is also proud to support early investigators at #EMBOChromatinDynamics co-organized by Haico van Attikum @haicovanattikum.bsky.social meetings.embo.org/event/24-chrom…

Yesterday evening I gave a public lecture "Repairing DNA damage: what does that mean for you?" at the beautiful theater Diligentia in The Hague. Thanks to @Diligentia_1793 for the invitation and the audience for great discussions! Bottom image Omroep West

Thank Chris, for a nice talk. Dr. Haico van Attikum Haico van Attikum @haicovanattikum.bsky.social will take us to the tight connection between chromatin and human diseases with the DNA caught in between. Sign up at cancer.columbia.edu/research/progr…

Our new paper in Nature Communications shows that Fanconi anemia proteins promote end resection to repair double-strand breaks by homologous recombination. Great work by Bert van de Kooij, Fenna van der Wal, with @marcelvanvugt , altmeyerlab and YaffeLab! nature.com/articles/s4146…
