Glad to see our paper, with Xin He Matthew Stephens Wes Crouse Sheng and Kevin, is out today at Nature Genetics! nature.com/articles/s4158…. We developed a new statistical method, causal-TWAS or cTWAS, to reliably identify causal genes in genome-wide association studies (GWAS). 1/n

Our most recent work is now published at Nature Genetics. Epigenetic variation impacts individual differences in the transcriptional response to influenza infection. Great collab with Guillaume Bourque lab and huge congrats to the lead author @katiearacena. Link: shorturl.at/bcdBP

Hi #BoG24 CSHL Meetings! @Xenofon_G from my group is going to present his poster today (126, Poster Session I) on mtDNA effects on gene expression (of both mtDNA and nucDNA genes) in 48 different tissues in GTEx, pls look him up if you’re interested in mito-nuclear cross talk!

**Please RT** The 2024 Complex Trait Consortium - Rat Genomics (CTC-RG) meeting is being held in Milwaukee, WI from Oct 2-5. The meeting will be at Medical College of Wisconsin and is being hosted by Anne Kwitek and Rat Genome Database. Respiration link: rgd.mcw.edu/wg/ctc-rg2024/

Advertising an open position for a bioinformatician/data scientist at UCSD to work with my lab, the Gymrek lab, and others as we build genome browser tools for Pangenome sequencing data and computational tools to integrate this data with GWAS methods. employment.ucsd.edu/bioinformatics…

Check out our scPrediXcan paper cell.com/cell-genomics/… Led by talented Yichao (Charles) Zhou, supervised by Mengjie Chen and me, with thanks to many contributors scPrediXcan integrates deep learning and single cell expression data into a powerful cell type specific TWAS framework.
