Is it correct?

I think this issue needs serious thinking 👇 From many spheres of my contacts - job, friends, family - I am hearing the same thing - College going students have serious mental health issues. The Universities/Institutions get criticized for pushing them over the edge. 1/4

Toxic PI: focus on high impact factor papers, grants and fundings. Great PI: focus on overall development of a student including research, teaching, leadership and mentoring skills.

Me in UG: I am smart Me in PG: I am smart Me in 1st yr PhD: I am....🤔 . Me in 3rd yr PhD: I am.....🤔 . Me PhDone: I am sure, I am not smart🤓

Things I keep in mind when I review -Authors are smart people -Don't review manuscripts beyond expertise -Always look for the strengths -Highlight weaknesses but I always suggest how to overcome them -Use words like excellent, commend, encourage, etc.

I had no experience in scientific paper writing when I began my PhD. Even after publishing 40 papers, my first drafts still feel unsatisfactory on second reading. If you're struggling with your first paper, ask for help—good paper writing comes with time and practice.

Who can relate with this...

Academic jobs are low paying jobs with enormous amount of stress and pressure but we are still in it, why? Wrong answers only 😉

Ph.D. shouldn't be about publishing in high-impact journals but mastering skills to solve problems, mentoring, leadership and coming-up with new ideas.
