FAIR mining discussion took centre stage at today’s side event on wetlands & climate resilience. Discussions revealed how mining’s high water demands, pollution & dewatering are drying wetlands & aquifers. Despite efforts, gaps remain in community investment & wetland restoration

We toured the Kasibo Wetlands today, a vital ecosystem thriving with biodiversity & is essential for climate resilience. The visit highlighted the urgent need to protect such wetlands from degradation & promote sustainable community-led conservation. #RamsarCOP15 #Nature4Climate
