A fun few days with Alexandra Dariescu, Tomo Keller and ASMF Orchestra. Highlights were performing and recording Nadia Boulanger's Three Pieces for cello and piano, performing Clara Schumann's piano concerto with that gorgeous second movement for cello and piano.

Honoured to be soloist tomorrow in Bratislava w/ the Slovak Chamber Orchestra & Peter Breiner marking the 80th anniversary of VE Day. I shall play Bloch's Three Pieces from Jewish Life, Breiner's Lurking of a Purple Demon & Bat Chaim's Dance & Prayer. Here is some of Bloch's Prayer.

Pleased to announce I've recently been appointed Assistant Head of Strings Royal College of Music. This fractional position focuses on lower strings, chamber music & an ambassadorial role off campus. I don't envisage this to alter the frequency of my solo, chamber or studio work in any way.

I enjoyed giving a talk (& my first PP presentation) this evening Royal College of Music about Joan Dickson's life & legacy. A lucky surprise that Steve Doane, over from the US, came w/ his family. I began studies w/ Steve immediately after Joan's death. Many thanks to Dr. Ingrid Pearson!

My Rugeri started buzzing like a bee late Friday and with a concert last night Howdenshire Music in Yorkshire, the very kind people at Florian Leonhard leapt in to action early yesterday morning and gave me another wonderful cello to play on. 🙏 Any guesses as to what it is?
