Well, I was partly right: the government has found some more money to fund 4%. There definitely won’t be strikes, no matter how hard the NEU tries - they won’t get 50% turnout to oppose this deal.

Who to listen to about schools? My golden rule is: take a pinch of salt if they haven’t worked in a school since September 2020.

A tour company (which I won’t name) has quoted us a 30% price increase for a school trip for 2026 compared to 2025. Same location, itinerary, accommodation etc. Thirty per cent. Needless to say, even though we’ve had positive experiences with them, we won’t be going back.
