EU's top diplomat @KajaKallas comes with strong human rights record. But in front of growing attacks on rights, yes, you need to talk about it & take robust actions. Not just a legal & moral obligation, it's also in EU's interest. Our OpEd in @EUObs 👇 euobserver.com/eu-and-the-wor…

5 years after the start of the Covid pandemic, the Chinese government's continued to cover up the facts, while persecuting people for challenging its mishandling of the pandemic. Shame.

At least 40 Uyghurs are sent to China, after a decade long inhumane treatment of the Thai government. Shamelessly. Outrageously. These men asked for help to travel to safe third countries to enjoy freedom that they could not have in China. The world did not save them. 1/5

4 years ago, I was called a fool for urging MEPs to link freezing of 🇪🇺-🇨🇳 trade deal (CAI) to Beijing’s crimes against humanity instead of to its baseless sanctions: hrw.org/news/2021/05/2… This is exactly the scenario I feared. Mark these words: #CAI will soon be back.
