Extraordinary piece of Irish history and our Mná na hÉireann. headfordlaceproject is recorded as being made between the mid-1700s to 1918. The Team has just one surviving fragment from over 200 years ago. I thoroughly enjoyed joining them this week. #IrishLace #Headford #Galway

Our own Norma Owens @historyatgalway Ollscoil na Gaillimhe | University of Galway has just been announced as the 2024 recipient of the MacCurtain/Cullen Essay Prize in Irishwomen’s History from WHAI for her research essay entitled 'Was the Cong Lace Industry better than Home Rule?'
