What a weekend. Ruth and I marshalled at the Montane Lakeland 100 Long days and nights but so worthwhile. It was lovely to meet and greet at Coniston (Top Gun theme) & marshal at Ambleside (Jurassic Park). I must have said ‘Welcome to Ambleside’ over 1000 times ❤️ 🦖 🦕 🏃‍♂️ 🏃‍♀️ 🏔️ ❤️

Counting the days until Finn joins the family 🐶

Day 1 of tour de Mont Blanc completed. St Gervais to Les Contamines 3000ft of elevation and climbed to 7000ft. The French alps are ❤️

Tour de Mont Blanc days 2 & 3 completed. We have trekked into Italy for a rest day. Tomorrow we trek into Switzerland. The elevation gained averages about 3k to 5k per day with a current max reached of 8300ft. The views are ❤️

Last day of the summer break. Highlights have been: Marshalling Montane Lakeland 100 Tour de Mont Blanc Ruth Hadfield Arrival of our puppy - Finn Completing The Firelighter Ultra this weekend Spending time with family ❤️

Managed to run 55 miles overnight across the Lakeland fells. Nowhere near as far as I was intending to run and only half the elevation. New training block starts Tuesday 1st.

A visitor to this morning’s Bushcraft session - a grey dagger moth caterpillar. Of particular note is the black protrusion on his back.

3GC have had a fantastic first session in Forest Schools with Mr Hadfield! They demonstrated excellent curiosity, teamwork and respect for others and their environment. Together they made a Stone Age shelter through the different periods of time! Anthony Hadfield | Head into the Wild
