Measurement of left atrial fractional shortening (LAFS%) in cats is a fantastic adjunct to assessment of atrial size when staging cats with cardiomyopathy. Reduced LAFS% is associated with a greater risk of arterial thromboembolism, so should trigger clopidogrel use. #felinehcm
