1/ One thing I learned from Lyron during this conversation about Seismic was the importance of discovering a key insight, first hand, from experience, which led to the creation of Seismic Systems. Listen or watch this episode and you'll see what I mean. Summary In this

Crypto's becoming high status again (ty stablecoins) Just this week, Seismic has had - Discovery calls with regular saas companies - Job applications from people at banks First time in a while that folks from either of these groups have wanted to chat

I'm a highly motivated user that wants to replace my Chase checking account with a stablecoin account But I can't find a product that lets me - Receive my salary straight from Gusto - Spend with Apple Pay at any store - Pay all of my bills (rent / internet / etc)

Encryption will never work Encryption will never work Encryption will never work if it's applied to existing crypto use cases. Time to bust out the new ones.

Your creations at the Seismic Art Arena were amazing! Each piece truly reflects the creativity and energy of the community. The competition is heating up, and itโ€™s exciting to see everyone giving their best. We canโ€™t wait to see the next round of voting and new artworks!

The unique thing about Alliance's founder community: the really successful people actually help you out In most cases, really successful people can't make time to help me (random schmuck), which is super fair But Alliance founders always do & it's game changing

Web2 privacy is picking up in popularity, mainly because it's what people want Mass market users want to - use blockchains in everyday situations without blasting their finances to the world - have assurances that their funds are clean and are willing to share data to do it

When we used to run infra on Arbitrum, we were landing $10k+ contracts with a steady stream of dapps We thought we were providing a valuable service because people paid so much, but turns out these teams were just wild spenders, and ran out of money a couple months later

Lyron is right: A chain's real 'moat' is 100% in the social layer! Because the true strength lies in the non-replicable network of people and relationships formed by founders, off-chain providers, and VCs. Not liquidity or the product, but this social fabric is what endures.

Pump has insane leverage over Solana. Fat app thesis is looking strong It's likely that chains will start acquiring their top apps before they get too expensive

Why encrypt blockchains? It lets them support financial services that are core to users' financial lives. Checking accounts, business credit lines, health insurance plans, auto loans, all coming to crypto.

Seismic open sourced Summit, a fast and sub-second consensus client for EVM chains. Built with primitives from commonware and inspired by Alto. Seismic is not just building a chain, itโ€™s building the foundation for others.

Lyron (@lyronctk) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Many teams build their own consensus clients They do it even though it isn't their core competency. Example: Plasma with PlasmaBFT Huge waste of resources for all cases like this Why does this happen? It's because the EVM doesn't have its own "CometBFT". Now it does!

Info asymmetry in a market is tough to balance Too little and you discourage competition. Too much and bad actors to go wild But TEEs get the best of both worlds. Participants prove good behavior without losing edge (eg coinwatch) TEEs ==> a more fair financial system
