I am loving this book Colby Sharp!! I begin each of my gifted classes with a prompt and love seeing what they create. It has taken some coaching on how there is no “correct” answer. We will get there. Happy to see the divergent thinking taking place. #thecreativityproject

My gifted classes created an app for our beginning of the year creative thinking activity. I love their ideas! I also had them create a review of each other’s app. I could really hear their voice come through in their reviews.

5PA students creating mind maps on identity.

4PA uses task cards to find the theme. This is a challenging activity. It takes a lot of practice to find the theme.

Instead of listening to 23 presentations I used Flipgrid for kids to present their ideas and then give each other feedback via video. It gives a voice to students who wouldn’t necessarily share in class. @Flipgrid

5PA using hexagons to connect their thinking on lit elements. It was a challenge for them but the product turned out beautifully. The students realized how some things didn’t make sense when providing feedback for their friends. Great lesson for them to learn.

What teachers do on break.

My 5am brainstorm. Visual planning. Laying out all your materials for each grade level so after you write your lessons you make sure you have materials. I do my planning all by myself and so is important for those details to not be missed. Does anyone else do this?

And on Wednesday’s we go to Google😊.

Trying a new resource about grammar this year. This activity was about a pop can that needed to go to a psychologist. Their job was to use vivid verbs. My classes had a great time with this!!

5PA watched our boy Neil on America Ninja Warrior this morning. How awesome! The kids loved it!
