I’m so grateful that my postdoc was at Mayo Clinic (paying higher) and in Rochester MN, a small town in the middle of nowhere (low living expenses and affordable housing [maybe not anymore]). I can’t imagine how a postdoc survives in NYC or Boston or SF with similar pay rates.
