ā€œI think the only reason I’m alive is because, actually, they never gave upā€ - We must not give up on people by voting for the Assisted Dying Bill today. telegraph.co.uk/gift/4ef704514…

I will be voting against the Assisted Dying Bill today. Whatever you think of the principle of it - and there are good arguments on both sides - the proposed legislation is weak, rushed and poses more risks than safeguards…

Today in Parliament, I will be voting against the Assisted Dying Bill. I have no principled objections to assisted dying; however, as someone with nearly 30 years of experience in health and care, I believe that the bill presented to us is both unworkable and unsafe.

This Assisted Dying Amendment was just voted down: Amendment to mean someone substantially motivated by feelings of being a burden, a mental disorder, a disability, financial considerations, lack of access to treatment, or suicidal ideation – would not qualify for assisted dying

.Kim Leadbeater MBE MP you are misleading the House before today’s vote. You know the Royal College of Psychiatry - the experts in capacity & coercion - has explicitly opposed your bill. It breaks my heart that you would use a sleight of hand to mislead MPs and the public in this way.

What’s truly astonishing about today is that The Labour Party MP’s seem more aggrieved, to the point of resignation, about scrapping benefit payments for the most vulnerable in society than they are about a Bill that could effectively kill the very same people. Make it make sense 🤯

Parliament is about to vote on the Assisted Dying Bill. I tried so hard to find a way for my vote to be counted so I could stay with my family. It beggars belief that this wasn’t possible. As such, I have just arrived at the House of Commons to vote against this Bill.

After what has been one of the most depraved weeks in UK Parliament all I can say is, the moment this abhorrent woman was made Leader of the House of Commons, the writing was already clearly on the wall in terms of how low we’ve sunk as a nation.

Just been called to another sudden death at home. The ambulance wouldn’t even attend and the police waved it straight through for me to collect. No need for a coroner either apparently.. So no one has even looked at this person laying on their own floor at home having died

l keep thinking of PD James’ dystopian novel The Children of Men, in which the insupportable elderly are invited by the state to participate in a TV-advertised ā€˜Quietus’, a sort of Saga cruise, and sail off in boats towards a sunlit horizon and once over it are drowned.

If 1000 migrants have illegally entered this country within the last 24 hours, how the hell has the Home Secretary still got a job? Keir Starmer What part of WE ARE FULL do you not understand? You either declare a National Emergency, or sack her, you can’t have it both ways.
