Sorry to burst the bubble, but ChatGPT is not doing "real-time retrieval". So many times this week I’ve read that ChatGPT or AI Mode is "retrieving information from the internet in real time with RAG”. It’s not. What’s actually happening is far more familiar.

Trying to use AI mode as much as possible… and it’s very… mid? ChatGPT outputs for the same questions are much, much better. I’m sure things will improve, but Sundar… your generative search engine, woof.

Crazy. Vector databases for AI memory just got replaced by... MP4 files! You can now store millions of text chunks inside an MP4 file with Memvid, and still get lightning-fast semantic search! 🤯 No database needed. 100% Opensource! repo below ↓

Why the FAIR Package Manager leadership structure is important? Because it means that a single person or company can’t decide, for example, that a simple slack channel will not be resurrected. #WCEU

AI coding agents hit a wall when codebases get massive. Even with 2M token context windows, a 10M line codebase needs 100M tokens. The real bottleneck isn't just ingesting code - it's getting models to actually pay attention to all that context effectively.

Is ChatGPT citing G2 an existential threat to their business? They sell intent data, without people clicking through, data quality will tank. Same goes for Gartner sites, TrustRadius, et al. They can sell "AI visibility", but that's a major pivot... and not as monetizable IMO

🚨 Your GA sessions might be breaking right now (and you don't even know it) Why did a test spawn 100 organic sessions AND 100 "Unassigned" (not set) sessions.? Question: Who/what caused this? Solution: dugadigital.com/post/the-two-m…

“Mention-building” should be seen as important as link-building. The more people mention your brand, the more reputation and brand prominence you gain. I’ve been saying this for over 5 years. 📌 Google just rolled out a new “Brand” panel inside Merchant Center — being tested

Your dashboards are lying. Your attribution models are broken. And if AI doesn’t remember your brand, you don’t exist. Welcome to the latent web. Here's how to survive. jonoalderson.com/conjecture/eve…

Seeing a lot of folks saying that the Gen AI tracking tools not having "prompt volume" is a big deal - FWIW, i don't think there will ever be accurate prompt volume from any vendor. Tracking Gen AI outputs is directional data, not a volume game IMO.

Ludvig Cindy Krum 📱 Google Google is not responding to "AI Hype" traction. Google is just using AI as the excuse to redefine the paradigm. One in which they take all the clicks. An 800lb Gorilla sets anywhere it wants and blocks all the exits.
