The Netherlands disapproves of the new sanctions against officials of the International Criminal Court. Independent international courts and tribunals must be able to carry out their work without hindrance. We stand firmly behind the Court. 1/2

Spoke with HR/VP Kaja Kallas about the sanctions against Int'l Criminal Court officials. We agreed that the ICC should be able to function independently and effectively, and that the EU and its Member States will remain in close contact. We stand firmly behind the ICC & its officials.

Spoke with the Int'l Criminal Court President, Judge Tomoko Akane. I underlined that we disapprove of the new US sanctions against four ICC judges. I also emphasised that the Netherlands takes its responsibility as Host State seriously and that we stand firmly behind the Court. 1/2
