After three weeks of continuous data collection, a schackel got loose, and we had to arrange a nightly rescue operation of our #Sailbuoy with R/V Svea (SLU) Now released again for another #fish and #ocenography data collection mission in the #balticsea

Here’s a thread on a paper we’ve just published looking at how correlated the phenological responses of seabird populations are across the North Atlantic. Huge thanks to the many coauthors and the many others whose time in the field generated these data. Below is a brief summary.

In Phillip Island today with Jean-Pierre Thébault 🇫🇷🇪🇺 for the launch of this sailing drone, a result of a partnership between Phillip Island Nature Parks, CNRS 🌍, SLU and Penguin Foundation. It will collect information on the waters off Philipp Island and be an invaluable asset for #penguin #research

New paper: Prey choice of razorbills in the Baltic Sea. Surprisingly similar to guillemots, despite diving half as deep. They fly a bit longer though - and may therefore find prey hotspots!? Jonas Waldenström + contrib from Dr. Natalie Isaksson doi.org/10.34080/os.v3… Ornis Svecica
