Happy ‘Heavenly’ Birthday Sir Patrick Moore, who would have been 102 today! When Science Projects took over the observatory 30 years ago, he declared that the Observatory had been “Saved for Science!” #savetheosc #savetheobservatorysciencecentre

So the sun sets on another stargazing season at The Observatory Science Centre. Last night's themed event for the Lyrids meteor shower included an excellent talk from Robert Massey and some lovely views in Dome D of M35, a galaxy 35 million light years away.

It was great to hear during the special event Herstmonceux Castle Estate today, that they are currently in negotiations with the science centre & are looking forward to building a relationship with them. So fingers crossed for positive outcome of these discussions soon!
