Today I was lucky enough to be one of the early recipients of the #Pfizer #CovidVaccine. Probably the most important public health campaign of my lifetime. Update: arm's a little sore, but mostly feeling a sense of relief and hope. If and when you are able, please #GetTheShot!

Fascinating evidence supporting a link between psychopathology and accelerated aging across multiple domains, from a long-term birth cohort study in NZ. Yes, psychiatric illness can and does have biological effects! ja.ma/37m8ydW JAMA Psychiatry

NEW - British Columbia will introduce legislation later this session to create bubble zones around schools and hospitals to stop protests. The province was considering regulation. #bcpoli

Still stigmatized #ECT is now a brief treatment under anaesthesia, a safe medical procedure. And life-saving, reducing #suicide by 50 per cent in 1st year post hospitalization for #depression. Study in @TheLancetPsych led by @camhnews ICES team. thelancet.com/journals/lanps…

That person is Trudeau, who could call off the filibusters and answer simple questions about what the Liberals knew about Beijing election meddling and when, but I suppose that’s a matter of perspective

Thrilled to share my first publication in The American Journal of Psychiatry! We meta-analyzed prospective studies of cognitive function before & after pharmacotherapy for late-life depression and found significant improvement in memory/learning, particularly with SSRIs.
