Tomorrow at 1pm Merseyside fire authority will be voting on proposals that Fire Brigades Union believe will endanger firefighters & members of the public. We will be outside Mersey Fire HQ from 11am & would welcome the opportunity to speak with councillors & public prior to the meeting.

This meeting of Merseyside fire authority must be one of the most provocative ever. The Chief Officer is presenting his dangerous plan just a week before a change of government. The Fire Brigades Union will resist every step of the way. We stand for safety and professionalism.

I share the Fire Brigades Union's opposition & have huge concerns around this dangerous proposal. We need safe crewing levels, set by new national standards – as detailed in Labour's manifesto. Local authorities must listen to the warnings of firefighters on the frontline not ignore.

I am hugely disappointed to learn of proposals to ride 3 on some full time fire appliances. This crosses a red line and is something I cannot support. I will oppose this now and always. I hope the Fire Authority reject the Chief Fire Officer’s proposals.

I joined FBU Merseyside members this morning to show my opposition against Merseyside Fire Authority’s dangerous proposals. As Fire Brigades Union have said sending out crews of three firefighters puts lives on the line. I hope these proposals are rejected. #DangerComesIn3s

Full support and #solidarity with FBU Merseyside Ian Hibbert Lee and all those standing up and fighting against these utterly ridiculous and downright dangerous proposals #SaveOurServices

Thank you to all those who stood with FBU Merseyside today against dangerous crewing proposals both on the ground and behind the scenes. We know this decision is only deferred & we will fight it again if & when it returns. #DangerComesIn3s

Merseyside Fire Brigades Union members stand in solidarity with affected families & communities in Southport & we condemn in the strongest possible terms those who would seek to use this tragedy to sow division & hatred.Lee FBU Merseyside #HopeNotHate

In a week where we have seen violence and attempts to spread division, a group of ‘ordinary’ working people, rebuilding in Southport. Nothing ‘ordinary’ about it: inspiring and building hope. Ian Hibbert Lee

If you're attacking firefighters or stopping them doing their jobs you're not "saving our children". If you injure a firefighter or damage a fire engine, you are directly responsible for endangering children. Injured firefighters with damaged fire engines can't save lives.

414 emergency service workers died in New York September 11th 2001, but that's not where it ended. It's believed that more than 2,000 first responders who worked on the site have since died from cancers with many others continuing to suffer from illness. RIP Brother & Sisters

The fire brigades union will be holding a parliamentary lobby on 8th Oct, amongst issues we will be campaigning for national standards with Fire Brigades Union at the centre of those conversations. We must ensure a fire service that is fit for the future Lee FBU Merseyside

We have been clear,we will work with any FRS that wants to negotiate agreements like those in place in London & Manchester FRS's. What we can't allow is local employers to bypass those negotiations in favour of relying on arrangements put in place by FBUManchester Ben

A must watch video explaining why fully crewed fire appliances are essential. Stop the postcode lottery, the Fire Service should be funded adequately to meet the needs of the public it serves.
