The Napoleonic Norman Cross site in Cambridgeshire has been saved for the nation! 🙌 Soon you'll be able to visit the world's first purpose-built prisoner-of-war camp. Nene Park Trust have purchased it with grant funding from us and The National Lottery Heritage Fund. ➡️ bit.ly/NormanCross

The Butter Cross monument in Winchester was built in the early 15th century and was once used by locals to sell produce, including butter and cheese. 🧀 It was later restored by renowned architect George Gilbert Scott in 1865. 📷 This photograph was taken between 1850 and 1900.
