Consider you may not be into the ground as much as you believe. You are “on” the ground but not “into” the ground as you move through your swing.

Consider being willing to share information w/ other teachers that you know will make players better. The trap is you may feel someone will take your secrets but remember- just because they have the info, doesn’t mean they can copy the execution, but the player can still benefit.

Until they show they will pitch you backwards, VRP the fastball. In the event they begin starting you early with off speed, most times it will be a”get me over” pitch to get ahead. If so, VRP offspeed early knowing that the success of a hitter when behind in the count goes down.

Kids that mature physically early are the elite players 10-14u. That advantage lessens in HS. This is why player rankings are irrelevant at 15u and below. Also why being on an elite youth team doesn’t matter. Only priority should be developing your skillset & love for baseball.

Before every at-bat, Liberty Baseball center fielder Derek Orndorff scratches a cross in the dirt. The @ASUNBSB umpire ain't having none of that. I wonder why he doesn't cover up what the other batters are scratching in the dirt.

A good path works behind &through the ball allowing hitters to make clean contact&create good ball flight w/backspin.When your path is down &across your bat is in&out of the zone very quickly. This path tends to miss hit the ball&have poor ball flight (slice, hook, overspin, topspin)

I have to take responsibility for partially or even largely convincing a generation of researchers to write off situational hitting variations as flukes. I may have been wrong to do that. We have vastly better data now than we did 40 years ago. Let's look at the options again.
