Good afternoon from Red Watch Fire Control. We have had a steady day so far, brightened up by a visit from Southsea Fire Stn who were standing by at Eastleigh Fire Station. Thank you so much for the biscuits and chocolates, most unexpected - great to see you all and put faces to names.

Red Watch control today have been blessed with a visit from Basingstoke Fire Station who were standing by at Eastleigh. They brought chocolates which was so kind! Thank you! Great to show them how control works and aid better communication and understanding between us & stations.#OneTeam

We have been advised that Exxon Mobil Fawley will be using flares this evening.

Earlier this afternoon control mobilised Winchester Fire Station and Redbridge Fire Stn to a male who had fallen approximately 5m down a riverbank. Crews rescued the casualty using Safe working at height equipment, and handed him over to SCAS HART South Central Ambulance Service. Great job by all involved!

We’ve had a number of calls into our Control Room this morning reporting the flaring at ExxonMobil Fawley site. If you do need to dial 999 always try to provide as much information as possible so Hampshire & Isle of Wight Fire Control can respond to your emergency appropriately.

On this day 27 years ago, 4th February 1996 tragic events occurred which cost Fleur Lombard QGM her life. Today our thoughts are with her family, friends and colleagues. Rest in peace Sister #WeRemember

Huge thanks to Wightlink Ferries who were brilliant today, helping us get 2 fire engines over to the IOW, Southsea Fire Stn & Lymington Fire Station to provide cover whilst crews dealt with a large incident in East Cowes, especially as they are so busy with #IOWFestival - really appreciated!

⚠️ One crew from St Mary's Fire Stn remains on the scene working with onsite staff to extinguish the fire. There is still a significant amount of smoke and steam in the air so local residents are asked to keep windows and doors closed.
