It was great to see so many HLS students at our second HLSL Lightning Lesson this week! They learned about finding and using newspapers in 3 minutes or less, snagged free books and HLSL swag, and of course ate donuts. See you at our next LL! 🍩

"I cannot live without books" - Thomas Jefferson It looks like HLS alum (LLB 1931 & SJD 1932) and professor Paul Freund (1908-1992) agreed. In these photos taken some 50 years apart, his books seem to have multiplied just a little! #NationalBookMonth #HlslSpecialCollections

Just in time for New England's fall foliage season, look at this little Roman law book from 1692. It is bound in woodblock-printed paper featuring ornate designs of flowers and vines printed in deep red ink. HOLLIS no. 990041889930203941. #HlslSpecialCollections
