Recently Emily Craig, 2024 Paris Olympic Rowing Champion, visited our 'Boats not Bars' facilitated by Fulham Reach BC. Emily spoke to the young adults about the positive effect the course has on building life skills such as communication & teamwork to reduce reoffending.

Did you know, that at Feltham we have Samaritans Listeners? It's a peer-support scheme where young adults volunteer and are trained by the Samaritans to support others with wellbeing when they most need it, while also gaining valuable life skills. #WorldMentalHealthDay

Great visit to Adel Beck SCH this week, taking time to listen to experienced leaders about the support they need to deliver the best outcomes for children. Also got to spend an evening at HMYOI Wetherby chaplaincy to support Prisons Week prisonsweek.org

Last week an ambassador from The OddBalls Foundation spent an afternoon with us delivering testicular cancer awareness and information sessions to over 80 young adults, men and staff. We are very grateful to have the ongoing support of the Foundation 👍

We welcomed in David Dein MBE Twinning Project who delivered a very engaging and motivational workshop to a group of young adults and men here at Feltham. He spoke about his journey in football, highlighting both his successes and his learnings to inspire personal growth 👏⚽

A few weeks ago, we saw the final session of a six-week employability workshop delivered by Wates Group Social Value Team. The young adults and men completed upskilling sessions including interview techniques & CV writing to support them in securing job opportunities on release.

My thanks to colleagues at @HMYOIFeltham for participating in the BBC’s recent knife crime documentary. This helped give unique insight into the challenges faced by children and young people – and by our staff working with them to make a difference. bbc.in/4htSrxj

Get Onside is the Saracens Rugby Club Foundation’s 8-week, prison reform project. They use a combination of rugby & personal development workshops to reduce reoffending. Recently two members of the first team came to Feltham to deliver to the latest cohort 🏉

Last month we hosted a rugby touch tournament as part of our Get Onside course with the Saracens Rugby Club Foundation. 🏉 The event also served as a networking opportunity, where the young people got to meet potential companies and mentors that could support them on release.

⚙️This week O'Neill & Brennan UK came to our Education, Skills & Work Hub to give a talk on the construction industry & conduct informal interviews to prepare them for work upon release. 7 prisoners registered & we're hopeful of some positive outcomes after their release. Great work👏

.Galliford Try recently facilitated work experience for young people at Feltham, focusing on management roles within the construction industry & offering support on release. This plays a key role in supporting rehabilitation by building skills & future employment opportunities.
