Happy to share my latest paper (with our fantastic collaborators in Scott Emr's lab) just published in J Cell Science examining the function of the gene I got to name (hobbit!) at membrane contact sites in both flies and yeast! journals.biologists.com/jcs/article/13…

Bashirullah &co Sarah Neuman Arash Bashirullah UW–Madison report a novel function for Rab1 and Rab11 during secretory granule maturation: ow.ly/M93N50FW7Nk

We have a new article by Sarah Neuman & others in Arash Bashirullah (Madison) on Hobbit, models of which* are like VPS13A or ATG2 journals.sagepub.com/doi/full/10.11… Hobbit is required for fly viability, and targets ER-PM contacts, suggesting it mediates essential lipid traffic here. *AlphaFold

The next ASBMB Lipid Research Division (LRD) seminar is tomorrow at 12 p.m. ET. The virtual session, "Phospholipid transfer at membrane contact sites," will feature talks by Sarah Neuman & Michael Hanna. Register here: asbmb.org/meetings-event…. Interested in presenting? Contact @JohnEBurke2.

The Bashirullah Lab & collaborators review the structure of a new type of bridge-like lipid transfer protein and identify a repeating modular unit, the repeating β-groove (RBG) domain, that unifies an RBG protein superfamily. | tim_levine_lab Sarah Neuman sciencedirect.com/science/articl…

Had a blast presenting in the Disease & Development session at Innovation Festival this afternoon! Thanks so much Sonia Hall for the invite to speak!
